Treasury Department Announces New Guidelines for Anti-Terrorist Financing.
On December 5, 2005, the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued a revised set of voluntary anti-terrorism financing guidelines to assist charitable organizations in complying with Executive Order 13224 and the USA Patriot Act following 9/11. Responding to the Earthquake in South Asia
An earthquake, 7.6 in magnitude, struck northern Pakistan and Pakistani-administered Kashmir on Saturday, October 8th, leading to widespread destruction. Indian-administered Kashmir and regions in Afghanistan were also affected. New WINGS-CF Report on Linkages in the Global Community Foundation Field
WINGS-CF (Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support-Community Foundations) publishes International Connections: Resources that support the growth and development of community foundations globally (in PDF), a report documenting the many transnational links in the community foundation field. The report was researched and prepared by Eleanor W. Sacks with the financial support of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. WINGS is a global network of more than 100 membership associations and support organisations serving grantmakers. (October 26, 2005)

Principles of International Charity
The Treasury Guidelines Working Group consisting of representatives of more than 40 charitable sector organizations including the Council on Foundations (the working group coordinator), Independent Sector, InterAction and Grantmakers Without Borders, released the final version of the "Principles of International Charity," as an alternative to the U.S. Treasury Department's Voluntary Anti-Terrorist Guidelines.
